Your first P2P trade: what to expect

A plain walk-through of a peer-to-peer buy on CoinHubX, from choosing an offer to the crypto landing in your wallet.

A peer-to-peer trade means you are buying from another CoinHubX user, not from the platform. The platform's job is to hold the seller's crypto in escrow and step in if there is a dispute. Here is how the first one goes.

Choose an offer

Set the coin, your currency and your payment method. Offers show the price, the limits and the seller's completed-trade count. A seller with a long history and a price close to the market rate is usually the easy choice.

Open the trade

Enter the amount you want. As soon as the trade opens, the seller's crypto is moved into escrow. You now have a payment window to pay.

Pay and mark as paid

Send the payment using exactly the method on the offer, then press "I have paid". Use the trade chat if you need to tell the seller anything.

The seller releases

When the seller confirms the money has arrived, they release the escrow and the crypto appears in your CoinHubX wallet.

If the seller goes quiet

Open a dispute from the trade page. The crypto stays locked in escrow while a mediator reviews the chat and your proof of payment.
